See according to the consulate, they say the following
passport or travel document valid for at least three months after visa expiry date
In this case, they mean the schengen visa expiration date. For example, if I am travelling from April 1 to April 20th, they will give me visa only upto April 20th. They want my AP to have expiration atleast 3 months from April 20th (which will be July 20th) but my AP is expiring on April 10th.

Can anyone tell me how serious this is?
We filled out all paperwork and forwarded to the lawyers 3 weeks ago, who filed it for us.
As I'm writing out a proxy for my dad to vote in my homecountry in upcoming elections, I somehow realize I wrongly entered his birthday on the G-325A, I put down June 6th, rather then June 8th. (got confused mixing it up with my husband's birthday)
Totally stupid :o, I know, I know. I'm so worried over this now, I can't sleep anymore, I can't eat anymore :(.
Of course I have already filled out a corrected G-325A & forwarded it to the lawyers handling our applications, but what could the consequences be? I'm so worried!
This was just a mistake made in a moment of not paying attention. :( :(

H1 would be valid/active the moment you accept employment with H1-B sponsoring employer.
Since you haven't started working and assuming you haven't accepted the offer from the
H1 sponsoring employer, YOU should be fine.
Please take advise from your company attorney.

1) My 6 years H1B with Company-A ends Sept 2011
2) I-140 approved and my priority date is Aug 2006.
3) Company-B(end client) offered a full-time position starting Jan 2010.
What are my options? My questions are:
1) Will I be eligible to extend my H1B with Company-B for another 3 years? Do I need a I-140 with Company-B to extend?
2) Is it possible to use the labor and I-140, that I filed when I was with Company-A, to file for I-485? If I can, can I file the I-485 independent of Company-A? Do I need any kind of approval or paper work from Company-A?
3) When Company-B sponsors my GC is it possible to port the priority date? Do I need to restart the whole GC process again with Company-B?

I gues with iin 2 months for AP. but i don't know in current scenario with lot of applications. There is no harm in filing AP & EAD with 485. Even if you get them you can use it or not choice is yours. but if you use EAD h1/H4 will be invalid and you have to come back in AP. Also if you come in AP then your H1/h4 will be invalid you have to use EAD.
I think 4-5 months is decent time to get AP. But with current volume I am not sure.
I don't think traveling back on AP invalids your H1. I checked with my lawyer and this is what he told me.

A friend of mine just told me that USCIS has issued "guidance" a couple of weeks ago that allows using the EAD and at the same time "preserving" the alien's H1B status.
I can't find the document, but he swears that he read it..
Not true. There was a request from AILA to USCIS regarding this issue for maintaining H-1 with full time employer and to work on EAD for part time work. USCIS does not not permit that at this time.

I am in a similar situation and need to travel. Applied for my AP on Apr/20/2010. I have put in an expedited request a week ago but still no response. Just booked an Infopass appointment for Feb/04/2011. Wanted to make it is fine and any suggestions on what I should carry with me.

What if the case is where I want to take up a new full time position and convert my current full time position to part time.....I guess one way to do it would be to transfer H1 to the new employer...wait for an approval and then file for another concurrent H1 for the part time job with the old company..But the problem is I'd have to wait until new approval comes...and also convince both companies to shell out 2k plus in filing fees....does any one have a better alternative ? I believe that to convert a full time position to part time, all you have to do is re-file your LCA.
